Google low-Quality Signals

Some people wonder if a few poor quality pages will drag down the site’s rankings. Well, let’s see what Google has to say about it, and why they may or may not matter.

The truth is, a few sites may have issues that cause them to not get ranked. For example, poor page quality will cause you to not rank. The thing is though, if you fix this quickly, such as eliminating the duplicate content, you’ll be able to reverse the ranking.  The reason why pages don’t rank is because the content isn’t either good enough or not relevant enough.  But, the thing about this is, it’s not a penalization because penalized sites get fully taken off and google doesn’t recognize them, but sites that aren’t ranking can always go through and cull these pages in order to fix the ranking on this.

So does it matter? Well, it can. Penalties are associated with actions, such as maybe someone going to the website and then saying it’s not a good site, that’s actually a penalty.  That can be due to a variety of things, and if you do have black-hat techniques on there, it can definitely affect the quality.

Google focuses in terms of pages and qualities on what is good, and what isn’t so good, so depending on the website, it may not be possible, and sometimes, it might be possible.

You may wonder why some sites get away with low-quality pages, and that’s because they have such good content that a few pages that aren’t that good get swept under the rug. Google doesn’t recognize it, or there is too much good to weed out the bad. Which means that they will see it, but they won’t’ do anything about it.

Whether that’s good for the site or not honestly depends. Do you feel like you’re missing out on precious conversions in some way, shape or form? Chances are, if the answer is yes, then you’re creating some issues with Google and the quality of the pages. If you feel like it’s making or breaking the site, it’s important to change this.

So what should you do? Well, the best thing for you to do is to go to every single page that is ranking low, and from there cull out the bad stuff, and from there, you’ll be able to fix the ranking. This includes eliminating the cannibalization, low-quality, and the duplicate content. you’d be surprised at how a little bit will fix this. If you’ve been wondering just how much this might impact, the best way to figure out if it’s affecting you is, of course, to try and see for yourself what is happening to your site, and from there, ake the changes that you feel are fitting for this, and in turn, create better websites that will help you with this.  You can always make the site better, and who knows, Google may thank you just by those steps too.
